Ford 1.0-Litre EcoBoost Wins International Engine of the Year for its category for the sixth year in a row

Ford's tiny but power packed 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine was recently named 2017 International Engine of the Year “Best Engine Under 1.0-litre” for the sixth year in a row. The Fuel-efficient, compact and powerful engine has won 10 International Engine of Year awards since its launch in 2012.

Ford Continues its ‘Driving Skills for Life’ Programme with over 140 participants this time around

With the main aim to reduce road accidents in Malaysia, Ford and local distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) organised another six sessions of their Driving Skills for Life programme, a flagship global corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme offering free-of-charge, hands-on driver training. Over 140 licensed drivers participated in this programme.

The Ford Fiesta is 40 years old already! Ford and local distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion has announced attractive cash rebates and monthly repayments for selected models nationwide. The monthly repayments after the rebates for new Fords are from as low as RM588 for Fiesta, RM908 for EcoSport and RM1,258 for Kuga.

Ford sells 650 vehicles in March 2016

Ford had announced a few days ago that its March 2016 retail sales in Malaysia that grew 24 percent from the previous month to 650 units.

The performance was driven by growing demand for the tough Ranger pickup, with March sales increasing 19 percent from the previous month of 513 units. Initial customer deliveries of the  new Focus also kicked off in March.

2015 is a Record Year for Ford in Malaysia

Ford today announced 2015 retail sales in Malaysia of 12,130 units, driven by an all-time record year for the Ford Ranger pickup.Ford finished the year strong as December sales rose seven percent from the previous month to 889 units. The class-defining Ranger remained Ford’s best-selling vehicle in Malaysia, and the country’s second-best-selling pickup truck overall in 2015, with full-year sales rising seven percent year-over-year to 9,231 units.

Recently a group of students from the Malaysian Multimedia University (MMU) was given the chance to participate in Ford's half day Driving Skills for Life programme. This half day, free of charge programme is aimed at raising awareness of safe driving and if actually beneficial for newly licensed drivers like these university students from MMU. 

Industry News: Ford Malaysia announces promising sales numbers for September retail sales

Ford today announced September retail sales in Malaysia of 844 units, driven by continued demand for the Ranger (above - which has been recently facelifted) and Fiesta (below).The September result helped drive third quarter sales up 34 percent from the previous quarter to 2,691 units, as the Ford brand continues to gain momentum.

Hello folks. Ford has just started sales promotions on the Ford Focus Titanium+ and Sport+ models. These models get a RM10,000 rebate off the retail price. Then you have rebates (discounts) on the Ford Fiesta 1.5L and the Ford EcoSport mini SUV too. These two cars are offered with a rebate of RM8,000 off the sticker price.

The Ford Fiesta ST - A hatch that makes me feel twenty again

The Ford Fiesta ST was officially launched by Ford in 2013, a good two years after the Concept ST car was first shown in 2011 and this was another three or so years since the Ford Fiesta first came out in 2008. It finally arrived in Malaysia in November 2014 which was a year since it was first showcased at the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow in 2013. I suppose you may think that the Ford Fiesta ST is based on a chassis that has been around for about five or so years. You could be right as it is based on the current, sixth generation Ford Fiesta. I finally got to drive it recently and you have to read on and see whether the car it worth its weight and worth the time its taken Ford to build it.

TEST DRIVE: 2014 Ford Ecosport 1.5L Titanium

The Ford Ecosport is based on the current Ford Fiesta B2E platform and was originally launched in 2013. We got it last year and I got to drive it at the end of last year. I tested the Ford Ecosport 1.5L Titanium recently and this here is the long delayed review of the mini SUV.

The Ford Ecosport is Ford's global product. It is sold in is most continents and is specced and tuned with each market in mind. We Malaysians get the one built in Rayong, Thailand and gets a 110ps, 142Nm 1.5liter 4 cylinder petrol engine that is coupled with a 6 speed dual clutch gearbox. We don't get a manual option and it comes in front wheel drive only form too (there is a 2.0liter all-wheel drive variant elsewhere). This last note makes sense as it is marketed as an urban SUV and I doubt anyone who buys this Tonka toy cute little car to go off roading in it. Maybe some flash flood wading, but that's about it.

The Ford Fiesta that wad displayed at the recent KL motor show is not the actual car we Malaysians will be getting. And this is a good thing. Surprised? Those that have been taking extra attention would know what I'm harping on about.
