Video - Which One Handles Better? The new facelifted 2019 Proton Iriz or the facelifted 2019 Proton Persona?

I was extremely busy over the weekend. Proton invited Yours Truly to try out the newly facelifted 2019 Proton Iriz and also the 2019 Proton Persona. While we had tried out the cars over at the PROTON Test Track in Shah Alam, a road test would actually show its actual mettle, or performance. So with that, I chose to head over with a bunch of journos to Terengganu and tried out both facelifted cars during this media test drive.

Proton Finally Launches the Facelifted 2019 Proton Iriz & Persona Cars - Priced Cheaper Than Before!!!

Proton Cars have finally launched both the 2019 Proton Iriz and the 2019 Proton Persona yesterday. Both facelifted models feature revised styling, improvements to over 300 parts in each model as well as having the Geely-based GKUI infotainment system (in both the Premium 1.6 CVT variants of the cars) which makes it a first for B-segment cars with intelligent features to be sold in Malaysia. But the best thing is that Proton has slashed the official prices for the cars, they now offer more value for less.

PROTON Unveils the 2019 Proton Persona Facelift to the Media - Persona 1.6 Premium CVT Test Drive (Video) & Exclusive Online Booking Now Open Till 22nd March 2019 at RM9.90 Only

The 2019 Proton Persona facelift was officially unveiled to the Malaysian media yesterday and we also managed a test drive of the Persona 1.6 Premium CVT. This comes about eleven days after PROTON unveiled the 2019 Proton Iriz facelift. The whole preview process was held at PROTON’s Malaysia Design Centre and test track in Shah Alam. It was deja vu. Except this time the Iriz had become a Persona, which is essentially an Iriz with a boot. Since this is a facelift, the changes were down to the exterior styling, the addition of the voice command GKUI Infotainment system and some minor changes or quality improvements to 303 parts inside the facelifted Persona.

PROTON has unvieled the Facelifted 2019 Proton Iriz to the Malaysian media earlier today. If you have been following our Facebook Page as well as our Instagram Account, you would have already seen photos of it. The facelifted Iriz gets an exterior restyle that adds some of the new styling cues found on their recently launched X70 SUV and it also gets a voice command capable intelligent infotainment system which is similar the one used in the X70. These are the major visible changes with some 367 other changes underneath.  It will be available for booking online and at all Proton showrooms by tomorrow with its official launch sometime in March 2019.

Video Test Drive - First Impressions / Review of the 2019 Proton X70 1.8 TGDi 2WD Premium - It Impressed Me...Go Watch the Video + 2 More!

The first drive video on the Proton X70 is out. I must say that the X70 is quite an impressive piece of machinery. It is the first car that has come out of the Geely-Proton partnership and if you take a look at the video you'd know that I came home from Langkawi pretty impressed with the car, which is also Proton's first ever SUV. I tried out the Proton X70 1.8 TGDi 2WD Premium variant. The one on top is the X70 2WD Executive - which comes with smaller 18inch wheels as seen above - the pic just looks so good that I wanted to share it here.

Service Fix / Recall For The Proton Perdana - Takata Airbag Strikes Again

Malaysia car manufacturer PROTON has announced a service fix to replace the passenger airbag inflator for all current generation Proton Perdana models. This is in line with the recall announced by Honda Motor Company regarding the passenger airbag inflator on the Honda Accord of which the Perdana is based on. This precautionary measure affects cars built from 2012 to the end of August 2018 and PROTON will be sending out notices regarding this issue to affected owners. Dammit Takata! You're still causing so much problems to this day!
