GWM Malaysia announces that their new ORA 07 battery electric sedan is now open for Booking

Another mid-sized EV sedan is coming to town folks! GWM Malaysia has annouced that their GWM ORA 07 fastback styled sedan is now open for booking. This is the latest edition to the retro looking current range of Great Wall Motors' cars to be sold in Malaysia. The Ora Good Cat compact hatchback comes to mind with its unique looks. This ORA 07 definitely takes after that with its rounded styling cues. Quite different from the usual fare we get and somehow blends German retro styling to modern tech.

The All-Electric BMW 5-Series - i5 eDrive40 M is now available in Malaysia


Last weekend, BMW Malaysia launched the All-Electric BMW 5 Series sports sedan, the i5 eDrive40 M Sport at the Premium Auto Care Expo (PACE) 2023. This First-Ever All-Electric BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport is an addition to the very popular BMW 5 Series range of performance sedans, introducing a new era of driving excellence to the series. It is said to offer unparalleled luxury, but also redefines the cutting-edge innovation and design language within the BMW i fleet as well as being part of the 5 series range of vehicles, BMW Malaysia has announced that the sports sedan will cost RM 419,800.00

The 2023 BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport full electric sports sedan makes 250kW / 340hp and has a published electric range of up to 582 kilometers (WLTP). The electrical prowess can be further amplified by the innovative Max Range function, which enhances efficiency by 25 percent through comfort function deactivation and adjustments to the power and speed limitations (i,e useful programming to ensure drivetrain efficiency). Adding to its thrilling performance, the i5 eDrive40 M Sport harnesses a peak torque of 430Nm in Sport Boost, which allows this EV to do 0 to 100 km/h in a 6.0 seconds and hit a top speed of 193km/h (limited by the usual single speed EV transmission that most of these sort of cars have.

NETA V electric car launched in Malaysia at an affordable RM100K OTR - NETA is also the latest brand to start making EVs here in Malaysia too

The Neta V compact EV has been officially launched in Malaysia. The NETA brand comes into Malaysia at its official launch earlier today and there is currently a 5-day promotion event taking place at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya this week till 29th October 2023 .

Intro Synergy Sdn. Bhd, the sole distributor of NETA in Malaysia, announced that the NETA V, an A/B segment fully compact sized electric vehicle will be available for booking in Malaysia with an on-the-road price of RM100,000.

The Award winning Hyundai IONIQ 6 is now available in Malaysia - 2 Variants from RM289,888 onwards

Friday, the 21st of July 2023 marked Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) official launch of the  Hyundai IONIQ 6 battery electric car in Malaysia. The IONIQ 6 is a winner of three prestigious global acolades – the 2023 World Car of the Year, 2023 World Electric Vehicle of the Year and 2023 World Car Design of the Year. This streamliner type all-electric sedan is Hyundai’s second IONIQ model and also its second recipient of the three aforementioned World Car Awards after the IONIQ 5 in 2022 and is now available in Malaysia in two variants, priced on-the-road before insurance, at RM289,888 for the Max RWD variant and RM319,888 for the Max AWD variant, inclusive of an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty.

Yesterday, PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) launched seven fully-electric Audi e-tron models to the Malaysian market.  This is the largest fleet of all-new fully electric vehicles premiering in Malaysia, and is priced from RM383,990 The Audi e-tron range comprises of a family of SUVs, sportbacks and four door coupĂ©. Audi states that the e-tron range is purpose-built in terms of design and performance in mind

SISMA Auto officially opens their BYD 3S Centre in Glenmarie, Shah Alam


SISMA Auto, the Multi-brand premium automotive group earlier today opened the largest BYD 3S Centre in the automotive hub of Glenmarie, in Shah Alam, Selangor The new 3S centre which RM5 million is a Class-A BYD facility and has a spacious nine-car display showroom and a 16 service bays which was designed to accommodate the growing number of BYD customers. This comes after the news that BYD has already sold over 1,000 units of their Atto3 SUV in Malaysia.

Confirmed prices of the Mercedes-Benz EQS, EQB and EQC for the Malaysian Market

 


Mercedes-Benz Malaysia presents their future of electric mobility with three new models from the Mercedes-EQ family and their official prices for the Malaysian market. The Mercedes-EQ is their fully electric range of premium, luxury cars tops out with the EQS, the S-Class full electric luxury car and now we have two SUVs, the EQB, which is the B-Class equivalent. Aside from that, there is also an EQC, if you want that C-Class type of SUV (aka the GLC). All were previewed, or launched in July 2022 but official prices have only been confirmed today.

BMW Malaysia Unveils the 2019 BMW i3s - The First Ever Fully Electric BMW Model is Launched in Malaysia


BMW Malaysia has unveiled the BMW i3s at the opening of the Malaysia Autoshow 2019. This is BMW'S first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or pure electric vehicle and it adds to the brand's unique range of vehicles here in Malaysia. The i3s is also Malaysia’s first pure electric vehicle to be sold in the premium segment. The 2019 BMW i3s isn't something totally brand new. BMW has sold and delivered more than 120,000 units of BMW i3 vehicles globally so this is another new push by BMW Malaysia in its offerings.

30-year-old Wiebe Wakker is driving a fully electric powered Volkswagen from Europe to Australia and he has just passed through Malaysia. The Dutchman who set out for Australia from the Netherlands on 15 March, 2016, arrived in Malaysia from Thailand just over a week ago as part of his unique global mission to promote sustainability in daily life and showcase electric vehicles.

RENAULT ZOE FULL-ELECTRIC VEHICLE NOW OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN MALAYSIA


Limited units of the fully electric powered Renault ZOE are available for sale in Malaysia to the public. The ZOE is available at RM145,888, on-the-road inclusive of GST without insurance for private individual registration in Peninsular Malaysia in Glacier White colour. Prior to this the car was made available for agencies to try out alternative modes of transport - like the chaps from GreenTech Malaysia for example (see the photo below - the ZOE at an event in Cyberjaya).

Peugeot EX1 - Yes, It Sets A New EV Speed Record...BUT.....

"The Peugeot EX1 was piloted by Stephane Caillet and lapped the 20.8km Nordschleife in 9 minutes 1.338 seconds with an average speed of (yawn) 138.324km/h. Note that Peugeot have quoted until the 1/1000th of a decimal point for both lap time and average speed. I suppose when you're going this slow every 1/1000th of a second counts. "
