PRESS RELEASE
Volvo Car Malaysia and Aurizn to Host Interior Design Challenge
PETALING JAYA – Volvo Car Malaysia has announced its partnership with Aurizn, a high-end publishing
house to host the inaugural Volvo Aurizn Design Challenge which will see interior design firms submitting
renderings of their most creative spatial designs.
The concept of the challenge was born out of the shared vision between the two companies when it
comes to human-centric design – a design philosophy that focuses on making products that are both
aesthetically pleasing, functional and easy to use.
“At Volvo Cars, we have long espoused the universal appeal of Scandinavian design which intends to
make lives easier and more enjoyable whilst protecting the things that people care most about – be it their
families or the environment,” said Lennart Stegland, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia.
Volvo’s new design direction has received acclaim from international automotive and design communities
for both exterior and interior design. Volvo has also been acknowledged for its interpretation of the
Human-Machine Interface (HMI) – a design element that is usually side-lined by auto manufacturers.
The Volvo Aurizn Design Challenge has identified The Estate, an award-winning high-end residence
located in the South of Bangsar, to hold the final leg of this competition. Envisioned by the luxury
developer, Bön Estates, The Estate harmoniously unites the use of natural elements with modern
technology to deliver a more holistic and well-crafted high-end living, identifying well with Volvo’s own
design tenets.
“We are proud to have the Volvo Aurizn Design Challenge at The Estate, our premier luxury residence
based on the mutual respect for quality, innovation and design between all of the brands involved,” said
Goh Soo Sing, Managing Director of Bön Estates.
“Both brands appeal to a very exclusive clientele whom acknowledges that luxury is not about being
ostentatious or grandiose, it is more about moving through life with comfort and ease with the help of
intuitive technologies – we are looking for designers that could convey this idea well,” said Bobby Ang,
Managing Director of Aurizn.
Finalists will stand a chance to win a trip to the Volvo Design Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden, and meet
with top designers from Volvo Cars. For more details on how to participate in the Volvo Aurizn Design
