Sunday Lite: The All New BMW X4 Sport Activity Vehicle Infographics

The thing about large companies is that most of the time they usually react slowly due to their size. Like lumbering super sized oil tankers, they could take months or even years to make a business decision to turnaround. But occasionally, they react like a speedboat and can turn almost instantly. Like the all-new BMW X4 sports SUV, or what they like to call SAV for Sport Activity Vehicle. They've actually come up with a whole new model just three years after the original X4 was launched. A total model change in three years is usually unheard of most of the time.

Sunday Lite: Photoshop Madness...the Perodua OMG45

Some Smart Alec has decided to AMG an all-new Perodua Myvi. We call it the Myvi OMG 45 after the Mercedes-AMG A45. But this is the Malaysian 'God-Car' version....the Oh My God 45. Now you don't need to spend so much to fly.

Opinion: The Newly Unveiled Mitsubishi Xpander's Front End Styling is Scary so I try to fix it with Bad Photoshop. Come see...

The first thing I said when I saw photos of the newly unveiled Mitsubishi Xpander compact MPV crossover thingamajig over in Indonesia recently was 'Okaayyyyyyyyyyy......'. Then I thought that this MPV isn't so bad looking after all. It could just be horrible.

Sunday Lite: Not Fast, but a Legend....

The owner of this Proton Satria for sale has a nice title header - tak laju tapi legend - Satria Car, not fast but a legend.

It is a 1.3liter Satria by the way. The owner really holds this car in high regard. Tooooo high regard. ' Angkat bakul tekan lift sendiri ka?'

Sunday (Not So) Lite: My first ever oversteer wet-in-my-trousers moments

I got my driver's licence in 1990. I started out driving the driving school's Datsun 120y as well as practicing in my mum (and then hand-me-down) 1981 Honda Civic 1.3 3 door hatchback (paint the car above beige and that was it). The freedom to travel where I wanted to (within my weekly allowance) was fantastic. Of course, In my first few years of driving I was pretty gung ho about my supposed car control skills (I did not have any actually).

Sunday Lite: The Austin 152 aka Morris Commercial J4 Van - I used to go to Kindergarten in one.

One of the sad things about commercial vehicles especially passenger vans is that they end up becoming extinct faster than any passenger cars that are on sale. Most do not stop to think what has happened to any of them long after they've been scrapped or destroyed or re-exported out of the country. These days we have a lot of Japanese passenger vans plying our roads as well as some Chinese ones too. Favoured brands include the Toyota HiAce, the Westar LDVs, the Ford Transits and some funny Chinese ones like the LingLong or the JoyLong. No. I am not making this up.

Sunday Lite: Rare cars I remember spotting when I was a young lad in Taiping - A Citroen, Saab, Rover & a Borgward

The clocktower in Taiping. I used to go for tuition classes in the building behind the clocktower back in the day.

Taiping was a quaint little town where I grew up. It was a place where everything was peaceful and most of us teenagers would cycle from one end of town to the other. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, these was a time where change was happening. Taiping may have been a small town then (slightly larger these days) but prior to this, from 1876 to 1937 it was Perak's state capital. This was also a time when tin mining was booming around the town.

Ramblings on a Sunday - The upcoming Proton-Suzuki Ertiga collaboration model and what might have been

Imagine if Suzuki had brought this into Malaysia in 2012.....

I had recently heard that one of the first few collaboration vehicles under the Proton-Suzuki joint venture is the Suzuki Ertiga small SUV. Recent in this case was about a week or so ago but since it was Chinese New Year and I had opinions and news about other things to write about I have now decided to say a bit more on what I think the of this Suzy MPV and some background stuff about Suzuki in Malaysia.

Sunday Lite: The BMW Seven Hundred and Fifty by Q Branch

Q: It's the insurance damage waiver for your beautiful new car. Now, will you need collision coverage?
Bond: Yes.
Q: Fire?
Bond: Probably.
Q: Personal Injury?
Bond: I hope not, but accidents do happen.
Q: They frequently do with you.
Bond: Well, that takes care of the normal wear and tear. I there any other protection I need?
Q: Only from me, 007, unless you bring that car back in pristine order.
