New 2nd Generation Suzuki Ertiga in Thailand - The One We Won't Get

This, is the newly launched second generation Suzuki Ertiga compact MPV. It has only very recently been launched over in Thailand. I managed to take take a look at it as it was in display in Huahin, where I was holidaying.

Proton Sells 5,093 Units in October 2018 - Now Offering Zero SST as They are Absorbing Such Taxes Till Year End

September 2018 was not a great month for Proton and other car retailers in Malaysia. 1st September 2018 saw SST being reimplemented after a three month tax holiday as the Malaysian government scrapped GST and was going to revert to SST. However, October 2018 sales for PROTON cars grew by 12.6% in October where 5,093 units were sold, an increase of 569 units over the previous month and a slight improvement over the corresponding period in 2017. 

PROTON Has Slightly Updated the Ertiga - New Dark Seat Fabric & Infotainment System

PROTON Cars have now updated the Proton Ertiga 6 seat (7can fit but middle seat in the middle row does not have a three point seatbelt, only lapbelt for Indonesia spec vehicle, hence 6 seater rating)  compact SUV to better suit Malaysian car buyers. The MPV was unveiled in Penang on Sunday at the awards ceremony for the Proton 1 Tank Adventure competition.

Analysis: Proton Sold 70,991 Cars in 2017 - More Improvements To Come In 2018

It seems that PROTON has managed to somewhat stem the tide in terms of overall falling sales over the past two years or so. The Malaysian car manufacturing company recorded an overall sale of 70,991 units for 2017. Whilst this was a slight drop from the previous year - 72,291 units in 2016, the actual facts behind the figures show a positive outcome for Proton rather a totally negative one.

Ramblings on a Sunday - The upcoming Proton-Suzuki Ertiga collaboration model and what might have been

Imagine if Suzuki had brought this into Malaysia in 2012.....

I had recently heard that one of the first few collaboration vehicles under the Proton-Suzuki joint venture is the Suzuki Ertiga small SUV. Recent in this case was about a week or so ago but since it was Chinese New Year and I had opinions and news about other things to write about I have now decided to say a bit more on what I think the of this Suzy MPV and some background stuff about Suzuki in Malaysia.
