Lotus Cars Malaysia has now expanded to Lotus Emira range for our market with a second engine. You now can get the final lotus with an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), in this case a 2.0liter 4 cylinder turbocharged engine which makes 360hp. After this, there will only be EV Lotus' and if you want that feeling of a mechanical engine behind your seats (the Emira is mid-engined) this is your last chance to book one at aspecial offer price of RM988,000 on the road with tax (but sans insurance). This offer is valid only for the Emira i4 produced in 2023 before the actual prices take into effect.

The Lotus Evora Sport 410 is launched in Malaysia
Aside from the launch and handing over ceremony of one of the first Lotus 3-Eleven track oriented sports car, Lotus Cars Malaysia also officially launched the Evora Sport 410 model here in Malaysia. This is the latest Evora variant to be produced and it is basically lighter, more powerful and therefore faster than the 'entry-level' Evora 400.
Lotus Cars Malaysia launches the limited to 311 units Lotus 3-Eleven track oriented sports car
I attended the Malaysian launch of the Lotus 3-Eleven sports car earlier today. It was the official launch of the car here as well as the handover of one of two units already spoken for here in Malaysia. We witnessed the handover of car number to a loyal Lotus customer and also noted that he had been allocated car number #007. Another nice bit of trivia is that the other Malaysian customer for the 3-Eleven was given number #001. A privilege for Malaysia in my opinion. That car is in Penang, folks.

Late Night Rendezvous With A Lotus Evora IPS
It is still hard to spot a Lotus that isn't an Elise in Malaysia even though Proton has owned Lotus for a good fifteen or so years. I happened to be with a few friends and we managed to catch one at a car wash in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. The Lotus Evora IPS in the photograph above is still undergoing testing for our local climate especially in the transmission department since its the first automatic Lotus since the 1980s. It was just back from a run to Kuantan and back to see if all systems are go.
The Lotus Evora IPS with its 276HP 3.5liter V6 engine coupled to a 6 speed automatic gearbox and flappy pedals is on sale in Malaysia for a reasonable RM460,000 (without roadtax and insurance). Stay tuned for a longer write-up and better pics of this chance meeting soon.
Thanks to the chaps from Lotus Cars Malaysia who basically entertained our questions at 230am on a Sunday morning.
