Bus / EV News: DEFTECH Announces the Putra NEDO EV Bus - Malaysia's First Super Quick Charge Electric Vehicle


DEFTECH, DRB-HICOM's subsidiary has unveiled Malaysia’s first Super Quick Charge (SQC) Electric Vehicle (EV) - the Putra NEDO EV bus. The SQC EV Bus project is part of  the Memorandum of Understanding entered into by Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) and New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) of Japan. The SQC EV bus project is the first step into making the Federal Government Administrative Centre, Putrajaya, a more eco-friendly city.

Electric Vehicles / Bus News: Go Auto Enters Into Joint Venture With Mara Liner & Higer Bus Company to Develop, Manufacture and Use Electric Buses in Malaysia




Go Automobile Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (Go Automobile), which is part of the Go Auto automotive manufacturing and distributorship group of companies has entered into an arrangement with Mara Liner Sdn Bhd (MLSB) and Higer Bus Company Limited. The parties mentioned have established a strategic partnership to develop, manufacture and engineer the production of electric buses meant for Malaysia.

Go Auto, who currently assemble, distribute and sell Haval vehicles here in Malaysia as well as do contract assembly for a few brands have recently announced their plans for the near future. The company is basically geared up to be one of the major players in Malaysia's efforts to become a regional manufacturing hub for electric vehicles (EV) both in terms of components, parts and complete built up vehicles. The first in line are fully electric buses which are to be launched by the end of this year.

Truck & Bus News: HINO Hybrid Bus begins trial runs in Medini, Johor - The First Hybrid Bus to operate in Malaysia

HINO is now testing a bus with hybrid technology over in Medini City, Iskandar Puteri Johor.  The HINO Hybrid Bus, the first of its kind to be used here in Malaysia This historic milestone in public transportation in Malaysia was made possible with the combined efforts of Mitsui & Co., Ltd (‘Mitsui’), Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (‘MIM’), HINO Motor Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (‘HINO’) and Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (‘Handal Indah’).
