As usual, a new Perodua gets a ton of bookings prior to the official launch. So we now see the all-new Alza MPV having 30,000 and by now, more than that bookings by Malaysians. It does look like Malaysians love their Perodua and the new Alza, totally all-new is being welcomed extremely well. Now, it is based on the latest generation of Toyota/Daihatsu compact MPV chassis which is will know as the Avanza (in its most basic form).

Perodua - 227,243 units in 2018! Now Aims to Sell 231,000 units by end-2019

Perodua achieved another record selling year for 2018. The Malaysian compact car maker recorded its best-ever sales performance of selling 227,243 units in 2018 and it now aims to better that figure by 1.7% to 231,000 units by end-2019. Amazing numbers considering the total industry volume is about 598,000 plus units or there abouts. This means that about 1 out of 3 newly registered cars is a Perodua.

And Meanwhile, Perodua Sells 117,100 Cars in the 1st Half 2018 - Expects to Maintain its 209,000 Unit Target by End-2018 & Prepares For 2.14 Million Service Intakes This Year

Perodua is still playing cautiously even though they've had an amazing first half of 2018 in terms of sales results. The compact car maker is preparing to face many challenges in the second half (2H18) especially from increased demand currently due to the GST removal and with the end of the zero GST rebates together with the reintroduction of the SST in September 2018. However the company states that it is still maintaining its sales target of 209,000 units by end-2018.

Perodua has to date received a total of 60,000 bookings for their newest darling, the new Myvi. So far, the Malaysian compact car manufacturer (well, they still do not make anything cars larger than their Alza compact MPV) have managed to deliver approximately 28,000 Myvis which is close to 50% of the total number of  bookings since its launch November last year. Info on the Facelifted Perodua Alza

Perodua Alza (base)
This is just for record and so that readers have some clue of what the facelifted 2014 Perodua Alza is about. All variants get new redesigned bumpers and different alloy wheels.

The improvements made towards Malaysia's most affordable MPV (albeit a small one) include the ISOFIX points for child safety seats in the second row of the vehicle and splitting the 3rd row seat in half to allow greater customisation by the users – these 2 improvements are standard for all new variants.

Perodua teases the new Alza

Perodua has teased an advertisement of the new 2014 Alza on their website. I believe it could be all new as the Alza, aka Toyota Passo Sette mini MPV, was launched in 2009 and its five year model run is supposedly up by then. But knowing Perodua, who go by the Toyota/Daihatsu way of doing things what we'll see is a new bodystyle with the usual, same as the current model engine and drivetrain. This means that it will have the same 1.5liter engine and 4 speed gearbox. Same as it ever was.
