The All-New Volvo XC60 is Launched - XC60 T8 Twin Engine Inscription Plus, Inscription & XC60 T5 with Prices Starting at RM298,888 Onwards

I just got back from attending the all-new Volvo XC60 launch event which was held this morning at the Sheraton Hotel, Petaling Jaya. The mid-sized premium SUV was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 and it has now finally reached our shores. The interesting bit about this Malaysian specced XC60 is that the initial 100 or so fully imported units have been fully booked even though the SUV has just been launched. The next round of XC60 will be the locally assembled ones which will take full advantage of the Malaysian EnergyEfficient Vehicle (EEV) regulations and be priced from RM298,888 onwards.

TEST DRIVE: VOLVO SC60 T6 & T5 - These two are the SUVs for you to consider

XC60 T5

The Volvo XC60, launched in 2008, is a compact crossover SUV that has been selling extremely well globally since 2009. It is the first Volvo that brought out the styling philosophy you see in the current V40 and the S60/V60 cars. The newer XC90 SUV has moved the goalposts for premium to luxury SUVs slightly further afield but it is curious to see how the XC60 drives. I managed a few days in the XC60 T6 2.0 FWD and the T5 2.0 FWD, the two XC60 variants that are sold here in Malaysia.

Volvo Car Malaysia announces EEV status for selected models - XC60 & V40 models are now more affordable!

XC60 T5

Good News! Volvo Car Malaysia, the already jovial and happy chaps who sell well designed Swedish cars are now happy to announce that selected models equipped with their latest, and currently very efficient Drive-E powertrains has been accorded EEV (energy efficient vehicle) status. With that, three Drive-E models sold in Malaysia will now enjoy better tax break incentives from the Malaysian government. This means that they are cheaper to procure. Yup.
