Trucks - Isuzu Malaysia Delivers 61 New Isuzu ELF NPR Light Duty Trucks to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB)


Isuzu Malaysia recently delivered 61 new units of their light duty trucks, the Isuzu ELF NPR75UKHW (Crew Cab), to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).  The handover of the new trucks was held at the Glenmarie Golf & Country Club.  Automotive Corporation Malaysia Sdn Bhd (ACM), an authorised dealer of Isuzu Malaysia were the dealers that the trucks were procured from.



The new Isuzu Elf NPR Crew Cab light duty trucks are equipped with Roller Shutter function. Being a double cab truck, the interior that can comfortably accommodate up to 5 adult passengers. Think of it as an oversized Isuzu pickup truck, or a truck with extra doors or seats at the rear and you know how versatire these trucks is for work crews to travel in aside from transporting cargo.

The NPR75UKHW is fitted with Isuzu's 4HK1-TC Heavy Duty Common Rail engine which delivers powerful output and performance from its 5,193cc diesel engine - 150PS and 404Nm torque to haul people and cargo with, while ensuring fuel efficiency and reliability. This should be able to meet the demands of TNB’s day-to-day operations. 

Speaking of the use for the trucks, the newly procured units are part of TNB’s fleet expansion for their support trucks. The trucks are expected to be utilised for field support services and they have been fully customised accordingly to suit the national electric provider’s key task of serving the nation promptly and efficiently. These trucks are most likely used for ensuring that our electricity supply goes on uninterrupted or for the crew to head over to areas which have been hit by power outages.

Prior to the official handover ceremony, a training session was held earlier that afternoon for TNB’s staff and drivers, with topics ranging from product theory, basic vehicle maintenance and pre-delivery inspection.


At the small handover ceremony mentioned above, Mohamad Radzi Omar, Chief Operating Officer of ACM Sdn Bhd, presented an appreciation memento to Datuk Viswanathan A/L Subramaniam, TNB’s Senior General Manager of Fleet Management. The event was witnessed by Wan Nazmy Wan Mahmood, TNB’s Head (Operations) of Distribution Network-Asset Owner, and Othman bin Alias, Chairman of the TNB K3P Staff Union. Also in attendance was a representative from DRB-HICOM, Muhammad Fateh Teh, Head of Automotive Distribution. 

Koji Nakamura, Chief Executive Officer of Isuzu Malaysia, conveyed his utmost gratitude to TNB for their continuous support and trust towards Isuzu Malaysia as their preferred vehicle partner. Nakamura is confident that the Isuzu trucks will assist TNB in ensuring that the nation’s electrical needs are met in a timely and reliable manner.
