Christmas is around the corner and it is a time when people, and companies, give back to society. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MBM) had recently made an effort to give 57 children from Angels Children’s Home, Rumah Sayangan and Pertubuhan Rahoma Darul Fakir Malaysia a more memorable holiday season under its annual ‘Christmas In A Shoebox’ initiative. MBM President and CEO, Dr Claus Weidner, was drafted as 'Santa' this year. Since he is already a 'Claus' he is aptly suited for the job at hand.
‘Christmas In A Shoebox’ initiative was hosted at Funtopia, SS15 Courtyard, Subang Jaya. Entertaining his guests for the day, Dr Santa Claus Weidner was dressed for the occasion in a Santa suit accompanied by his team of merry helpers. The excitement in the children, aged two to 19, was evident as they eagerly participated in the fun games and freely explored the exciting obstacle courses at Funtopia, which included climbing walls with differing levels.
2016 marks the eighth year the initiative has been running and it has reached over 250 children from over 20 homes. A noble effort indeed.
