Tokyo Auto Salon Putrajaya, Malaysia 2014 is set for the 14th to the 16th of November 2014 - UPDATED

UPDATE 20th November 2014: - I just remembered about this event and guess what? It has been postponed until further notice (check out the website -http://tokyoautosalon.com.my/notice.html) . It's not happening folks.

Last Friday, 21st March 2014 marked the soft launch of the Tokyo Auto Salon Putrajaya 2014 edition which is scheduled to be held on the 14th to the 16th of November 2014 at Dataran Putrajaya, Presint 3, Putrajaya, Malaysia. The soft launch ceremony event was officiated by The Honourable Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin bin Abu Bakar (4th from the right), Minister of Youth and Sports, Malaysia.

The organisers brought out some toys during the soft launch for the guest to view

This event would be the second time this prestigious event is to be hosted outside of Tokyo, Japan. The first was last year in Singapore. The Tokyo Auto Salon is a renowned event with more than 30 years worth of history over in Japan. The Tokyo Auto Salon was launched in 1983 and has grown into one of the largest automotive after-market parts and accessories events in the world. Early 2014 marked this year's Tokyo Auto Salon and over 300,000 visitors came to Tokyo to attend the auto salon. This Malaysian chapter of the event, with the support of the Tokyo Auto Salon Association (TASA) of Japan, Persatuan Autoshow Malaysia and My Events Sdn. Bhd. will jointly host the "Tokyo Auto Salon Putrajaya, Malaysia 2014" in November this year.

More than 20 of the finest and most unique cars from the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon together with Race Queens and other automotive based entertainment will be brought in from Japan so that Malaysian motoring, modding and automotive enthusiasts an experience and ideas on how they can make their Proton Wajas into Wajalutions or how to make their Nissans and Hondas fly. In some ways than others.

According to the organisers, the purpose of having the Tokyo Auto Salon Putrajaya, Malaysia is to showcase the best brands, products and services. It will also be a platform to establish and enhance local branding of products and services in the automotive industry and to provide a networking platform for industry players; customers, agents and distributors. Aside from this the event will also create the opportunity to educate the visitors on the current development in the automotive sector and its services. Youth and Sports Minister, Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin also added that the organisers should also work with the Road Transport Department of Malaysia so that the visitors and the public be aware of what regulations are in place so that "Kancils do not get a 400horsepower engine without proper brakes to back it up". It makes sense actually. But overall the chap seemed jolly pleased that such a prestigious event will be held in Malaysia especially during Visit Malaysia Year 2014.

With that keep in mind that the event will be held on the 14th to the 16th of November 2014 over at Dataran Putrajaya, Presint 3. Those that are interested (that includes companies who wish to participate) can head over to the official website at www.tokyoautosalon.com.my.
