Mercedes Benz Malaysia & Hap Seng Star Launches City Service Center in Kuala Lumpur

Mercedes Benz Malaysia (MBM) together with authorised dealer Hap Seng Star (HSS) has officially launched the first Mercedes Benz City Service center located along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (Jalan Ipoh). This center is a full fledged 3S center right smack in the middle of Kuala Lumpur. This is the first of this sort of facility in a downtown KL location where usually it is just a sales center instead of providing a one stop shop for everything Mercedes Benz.

Hap Seng Star has invested RM7 million into this City Service Center. This fully fledged Mercedes Benz Autohaus can display 6 showroom vehicles and has 18 workbays. It is operated by a team of 45 personnel and is able to handle all sales and servicing needs. The center is able to service more than 50 vehicles per day (for normal routine servicing) and up to 1,100 vehicles per month.

It complies with the latest Mercedes Benz Autohaus Corporate Identity (or Mercedes Benz Presentation System II in Mercedes Benz lingo) and with that features the Star Lounge, a cafe lounge (with lots of food and drinks usually), Wi-Fi and internet for the customers to take advantage off whilst waiting for their cars or when trying out a new Mercedes Benz.

This Mercedes Benz City Service center also offers the newly introduced Mercedes Benz service differentiation - The Star Lounge, Premier Express Service, Drop & Go and Door to Door Service.

The Premier Express Service allows busy customers to get through the usual vehicle service in about an hour or less. There is a dedicated two technician team that ensures the express service is completed as quickly and as competently as possible (pictured above). The Drop & Go Service also complements this as customers can drop off their vehicles anytime outside of business hours. Those that are unable to bring in their vehicles, the City Service consultants can pick up vehicles from customer locations and return them once the service (or repairs) are completed. All vehicles under this option are fully insured so there is peace of mind for vehicles owners.

Hap Seng Star has committed to the Mercedes Benz brand in a big way. They have to date invested over RM180 million in their dealerships throughout Malaysia. They have been partners with Mercedes Benz for over 40 years (beginning in Sabah and Sarawak ).

On a personal note, I think the City Service is a good thing. It does feel like any contemporary Mercedes Benz Autohaus so I felt as ease in it (being an owner of one car myself). It would cater to people in and around Jalan Ipoh. In fact, Jalan Duta, Sri Hartamas, Bukit Tunku is actually a stone's throw from the location and the customer catchment is the areas mentioned does show potential in the after sales department. I think it also shows as Mercedes Benz is calling this new Autohaus a City Service Center.
